About Us

On April 27, 1923, ten noble postal workers chartered what is Pioneer Valley Credit Union today under the name Springfield Mass Post Office Employees Credit Union. The intent of its founders was to “promote thrift among its members and to make loans to its members for provident purposes.”

First located on Dwight Street in Springfield, the Credit Union then moved to Main Street. In October 1985, the main office relocated to Fiberloid Street at the new Bulk Mail Center. In 1991, the Credit Union moved to its existing location on Brookdale Drive.

In 2020, Pioneer Valley Credit Union's newest location at Sixteen Acres in Springfield at 1954 Wilbraham Road was established.

Whether you stay in the Valley or relocate, Pioneer Valley CU is here for you. “Once a member, always a member.”

The Credit Union continues to be consistent with current trends and technology in order to create new and innovative products, services and concepts specifically designed to assist your financial needs in a fast-paced society. We strive to add value to our member’s lives by providing them with fast, easy and convenient service. The Credit Union Philosophy of “People Helping People” is and will always be our main priority.
