A prequalification letter is a document stating the lender is tentatively willing to lend to you, up to a certain loan amount. This document is based on certain assumptions and it is not a guaranteed loan offer. It lets the seller of the home know that you are likely to be able to get financing. Sellers frequently require a prequalification letter before accepting your offer on a house.
For a prequalification letter, Pioneer Valley Credit Union requests you complete an application for authorization to obtain credit. The prequalification letter is based on the information provided and what we are willing to lend to you. Pioneer Valley Credit Union will check credit before issuing a prequalification letter. Prequalification letters are good for 60 days. Obtaining a prequalification letter early in the process can be a good way to spot potential issues in time to correct them.
